Most conventional IPL hair reduction technologies utilize massive amounts of heat to destroy hair follicles and ensure permanent reduction. On the other hand, SHR IPL fires multiple shots but at lower Joules. This new method gently heats the hair follicles producing a warm tingling sensation—some clients compare it to a warm massage. Motion/Gliding technology is utilized by moving the hand piece over the treated skin which contributes to the overall comfort felt by our customers during their hair reduction treatments.
Using the SHR technology the skin is heated gently through the melanin and the stem cells with low energy (45 degrees) but with high frequency. In addition the AFT technology converts unused light into the usable spectrum resulting in a increase emission and penetration into the treatment area and allowing for lower fluence to be used to achieve the desired outcome. In that way even lighter and finer hair can be treated and reduced permanently in a better way. With traditional IPL technology the melanin in the hair follicle is heated up to 70 degrees, making it very painful and with a higher possibility of burning to the skin. Research has shown that a slower, but longer heating process is considerably more effective for permanent hair reduction than high and short levels of energy. Therefore, when using SHR, the device is passed over the tissue multiple times (in motion) using low energy but a high rate of repetition (multiple times per second) instead of using the traditional method with single, high-energy impulses. Thus, the hair melanin, as well as the tissue of the stem cells, is heated with low energy at a slow pace and over a longer period of time to a comfortable temperature of 45° degrees Celsius to create a pain free experience for the client.
