What is Photodynamic Light Therapy also known as PDT:
Photodynamic Light Therapy LED (PDT) system is used for activating skin cells with pulses of low level, non-thermal light energy. The cell converts light energy into fuel (much like photosynthesis) and in turn stimulating the cells to produce proteins and lipids essential for building and repairing the skin. Research has confirmed that LED Light Therapy can speed healing, reduce inflammation and stimulate fibroblasts and collagen production considerably within just 24hrs of treatment. 3 MAIN TYPES OF LIGHT THERAPY: Red Light Red light easily penetrates the dermis and can help with a variety of skin conditions, such as acne, rosacea, scarring and eczema, as well as improving skin quality. The heat and light boost circulation, bringing more blood and nutrients to the area, It also instigates the release of chemical messengers called cytokines. Blue Light Blue light kills the acne-causing bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes, (P. acnes), which can cause inflammation. P. acnes is sensitive to blue light. Using the blue light eliminates the bacteria found in the oil glands in the skin. The added presence of infrared light (heat) in the home device causes the oil glands to shrink in size. Infrared Light (NIR) Infrared penetrates much deeper than red light. That would make it better for the care of deeper wounds, like surgical wounds. Deeper penetration of the light also means energy is delivered to even more of the surrounding tissue, bringing all the mentioned healing benefits with it. The addition of infrared light will also bring pain relief to a deeper level.

Very effective therapy for skin conditions. I started my blue light sessions for my severe acne, and have had great results over the last months. Definitely worth the money and time.
